What is Fractional Jet Focus?
You’ve probably come across our site because you’re considering the benefits of private air travel. Perhaps you’ve been frustrated one too many times by the commercial air experience.
Me too.
Every time I’ve been put through the wringer with poor service by one of the major airlines, I undoubtedly find myself wondering whether or not I should be flying private. Unfortunately, there’s not much unbiased information out there about the alternatives. And no one who seems to be able to answer, or for that matter even understands, all of the questions swirling around in my head.
Some of the providers seem a bit clueless from my standpoint. A recent ad for Flexjet from Bombardier showed a man standing next to his jet parked on the side of a soccer field as he cheers his kids on. I’m sorry Bombardier, but that’s a horribly contrived ad. I understand the core benefits of flying private. More efficient use of time. An ability to be there for the things that matter. More productive working time while traveling. And a lot fewer headaches and hassles.
What I don’t understand is why I should choose your service? Which service is most cost efficient for my situation? How many miles or hours do I need to fly a year to really have this be an option? What is the true cost – do the costs you’re quoting include fuel, repositioning fees, catering? Are there other benefits that I don’t know about?
That’s why we’re starting Fractional Focus. We want to gather all of that information and analysis in one place so that you can easily compare the different types of service – fractional ownership, jet cards, prepaid charter, and charter on demand – and the different providers of each. We want to give you all of the most recent information on new developments and programs in the industry. We want to create decision tools that help you figure out the true costs of flying, and whether or not private air travel is for you.
I think part of what makes this such a hard decision for many of us is that even after all of the data is in and you find the best alternative for your situation, it still is going to be significantly more expensive than flying commercially. Even when you’re flying (and paying for) first class. For many folks, even if you have the money, making that decision to spend it is the hardest part of this equation. It is for me. I now understand the industry inside and out, and I find myself still flying commercial. At some point, something will trigger the decision to fly private. And I’ll have all the data I need to make the right decision. And if you frequent Fractional Jet Focus, you will too.

Who’s Behind Fractional Jet Focus?
Fractional Jet Focus has been launched by Barefoot – a Cincinnati-based Agency specializing in Marketing the Pursuit of Happiness®.
Barefoot founder, Doug Worple, is the editor of Fractional Focus and his exploration of private aviation options was the genesis of this site. Doug was researching the fractional jet space, both because he is personally trying to justify taking the plunge, and in support of 3LUXE (another site launched from learning gained from Barefoot’s positioning) when it quickly became evident that there is a dearth of consumer-friendly online resources covering the fractional ownership industry.
Fractional Jet Focus is designed to fill that void, providing you with the most up-to-date industry news and analysis so that you can carefully weigh all of your options and then confidently make a decision based on knowledge, not emotion.
