NetJets ad focuses on the right things this time
In our recent review of a NetJets ad starring two of the richest men in the world - Bill Gates and Warren Buffett - we took the fractional provider to task. Why? Well, because the ad reinforces a negative stereotype and barrier to entry for many people considering fractional jet ownership.
It’s the notion that fractional jets are an extravagance for only the super rich.
Well, another campaign of NetJets’ currently running leaves Gates and Buffett at the terminal, so to speak. Instead, the ad relies not on wealthy celebrities, but rather simple, yet powerful, facts.
The ad features a beauty shot of one of the provider’s glistening planes on a shimmering wet runway. But it’s a list of 13 facts about NetJets that really shines. These facts are presented as a simple list. They include:
- 6,700 employees
- 670 aircraft and growing
- 220,000,000 million miles flown annually
- 150 countries visited
- 40,000 unique city pairs
Rather than provide a not-so-subtle nod to the billions of dollars earning interest in Gates’ and Buffett’s investments, these NetJet ads focus on the numbers that matter, the ones that make them the largest fractional aircraft provider in the world.
While not a particularly creative ad, it is clear and powerful in its simplicity and fact-based approach. NetJets is the industry leader and this ad reminds us of why. And in so doing it also reminds us that any serious search for a fractional provider must include them.
